Setting up POP3 or IMAP Custom Domain Name Based
Email Accounts on Iphone 6 and 7 (iOS 10)
The iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch all use the same operating system called iOS. Setting up your Domain Name Based email account on one of these devices allows you to stay connected to your email without having to be in front of your computer. Setting up your email account on a iOS based device is very similar to setting it up in your computer’s email client, follow the instructions below to get your email account set up.
- Find the “Settings” application on your home screens and click it to access the device settings.
- Next choose “Mail, Contacts, and Calendars” from the settings screen
- Under “Accounts” click the “Add Account…” button
- When presented with the account type screen, click the “Other” button at the bottom
- On the Other Account screen choose “Add Mail Account”
- On the New Account Screen enter the details of your email account
- Name – Your Full Name (or the name you want on your outbound emails)
- Address – Your Email Address
- Password – Your Email Password
- Description – use your email address (change later).
- When finished click the “Next” button at the top right of the screen.
- On the following screen scroll down to the “Incoming Mail Server” section and enter the mail server details.
- Hostname – Normally mail.yourdomain.com
- User Name – Your full email address
- Password – Your email password
- When finished scroll the screen down to the “Outgoing Server Settings” section of the screen. Enter the following outgoing server settings
- Hostname – Normally mail.yourdomain.com
- User Name – Your full email address
- Password – Your email password
- When finished scroll back to the top of the screen and click the “Save” button on the top right.
Your iPod, iPhone, or iPad will now verify your account settings and finish setting up your email account. When it is finished you will be returned to the email settings area of the system. In the next few minutes your iOS device will start download your email from the Weberz Hosting email servers and it will be available in the “Mail” application on your home screens.
