GENERAL OVERVIEW OF HOW TO SETUP POP3 EMAIL ACCOUNT IN OUTLOOK
Microsoft Outlook is one of many e-mail clients available, and it is quite popular. As with any e-mail client, any e-mail account must be correctly configured in order to send and receive messages. To do this, you will need specific information about your account:
You'll need only the following to begin: NON SSL Settings
- your email address
- your POP3 incoming mail server which is always mail.yourdomainname.com (POP3 Port is 110)
- your SMTP outgoing mail server which is always mail.yourdomainname.com (SMTP Port is 26)
- your password.
- Please note Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3 and SMTP.
Setting up email in Microsoft Outlook 2010
- Start Outlook.
- On the File menu, click Info then Account Settings.
- Select Account Settings from the dropdown list.
- On the Email tab, click New, select Email Account, then click Next.
- Click to select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box, then click Next.
- Click Internet E-Mail, then click Next.
- In the Add New E-mail Account dialog box, click Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, (POP3 is recommended)
then click Next.
- To configure your account, follow the steps in the dialog box:
- Under User Information, type your full name in the Your Name box and full e-mail address in the E-mail Address box
- Under Server Information, click on the type of e-mail account you have in the Account Type box:
- For POP3 or IMAP, (POP3 Recommened) type the name of the incoming and outgoing mail servers in the Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) boxes, respectively.

- Under Logon Information, type your user name in the User Name box. Type your password for the account in the Password box; select the Remember password check box if you want Outlook to remember your account password.
- If your ISP requires it, select Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) to log on by using Secure Password Authentication.
- Click Test Account Settings. A dialog box will display each phase of the testing of the configuration that you entered:
- Connectivity of the system to the Internet is confirmed.
- You are logged on to the SMTP server.
- You are logged on to the POP3 server.
- It is determined whether the POP3 server must be logged on to first. If it is required, Outlook automatically set the Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail option.
- A test message is sent, which will explain changes that Outlook made to the initial setup.
- If you want to modify your e-mail account any more, click More Settings to open the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
- Click Next, then click Finish.
Setting up email in Microsoft Outlook 2007
- Start Outlook.
- Under Tools, click Account Settings.
- On the E-mail tab, click New.
- The Add New E-mail Account dialog box will pop up. Click POP3 or IMAP, (POP3 Recommended), and click Next.
- To configure your account, follow the steps in the dialog box:
- Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types, then click Next.
- Click Internet E-mail then Next.

Setting up email in Microsoft Outlook 2003 and earlier versions of Outlook
- Start Outlook.
- Select E-mail Accounts from the Tools menu.
- In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click the Add a new E-mail Account option and click Next.
- In the Server Type dialog box, click POP3 and then click Next.
- In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, enter the required information:
- Under User Information, type your full name in the Your Name box and full e-mail address in the E-mail Address box.
- Under Logon Information, type your user name in the User Name box. Type your password for the account in the Password box; select the Remember password check box if you want Outlook to remember your account password.
